As we celebrate Labor Day today, there are several offices and businesses in Jefferson that are closed in observance of the holiday.

Jefferson City Hall, the Jefferson Public Library, the Jefferson Post Office, Greene County Community Center, Greene County Extension office, Greene County Chamber and Tourism office, and the Greene County Courthouse are all closed today. The library staff reminds patrons that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday.

Jefferson residents are reminded that due to the holiday, garbage routes are delayed by one day and will return to normal schedules next week. Residents are reminded to place garbage at curbside by 6am to ensure pickup.
