The Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce will be hosting one of their favorite annual events next Friday, though usually it’s held three months earlier.
The Business Appreciation Day, or “BAD,” Golf Outing was originally scheduled for late June, but due to scheduling conflicts it was moved to Friday, September 14th. Chamber President Marc Riley explains why they hold the event every year, and why it was rescheduled this year. “The BAD Golf Outing is something we do to try to get all of our Chamber members together on an annual basis. It’s more or less an appreciation event for our membership. The reason why it was postponed is because it was sandwiched in by a couple different other events, and we wanted people to be as involved as possible.”
The event will be held at the River Valley Golf Course in Adel. It begins with registration at 9 a.m., and there will be a shotgun start at 10. The format will be a four-person best ball tournament. The cost to participate is $50 per person, and includes the tournament, a golf cart rental, and a meal. Additionally, the Chamber is still accepting businesses who would like to be hole sponsors, which costs $100. Riley expects the event to run until around 3 p.m., which will give participants plenty of time to get ready for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Homecoming game that evening.
