For those in the Panora and Stuart areas who get their annual flu shot, there will be an extra incentive that will benefit their local communities. For every flu shot Medicap Pharmacy in Panora and Wright Pharmacy in Stuart gives out during the upcoming three-month campaign, they will donate the equivalent of twelve meals to their respective food banks.
The flu-shot window starts on September 24th and ends on November 17th. They will also be accepting non-perishable items during the donation period. This will be the second year that both locations will be having this event. Medicap Pharmacy Manager Andrew Knorr says they donated just over 1,000 meals last year between the two outlets. They hope to exceed what they did last year.
At this time anyone ages six and older may receive the flu shot or spray, and walk-ins are welcome.
