Trent Grundmeyer with Grundmeyer Leader Services answers questions during search firm presentations.

The Guthrie Center School Board met in regular session Monday.

The Board approved Grundmeyer Leader Services as the search firm for the hiring process of the next shared superintendent with the Adair-Casey Community School District. Both boards informally selected Grundmeyer after hearing all of the presentations last Wednesday. The formal selection is subject to Adair-Casey Board approval tonight, with a contract amount not to exceed $10,111.04.

The Board also reelected Wes Policky, Tim Benson, and Joni Rees as the Board President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer respectively. Policky was also selected as the delegate for the Iowa Association of School Boards annual convention in November and Sarah Langgaard was chosen as the representative on the Guthrie County Examination Board. Other approved action items included allowable growth and supplemental aid for the negative special education balance, the 2018 fiscal year transportation report, and a resolution designating Guthrie County State Bank and Peoples Bank as depositories.

The meeting concluded with administrative reports. Guthrie Center Elementary Principal Diane Flanery informed the Board that a buddy bench was recently installed on the school grounds and that fall testing has begun. AC/GC High School Principal Shane Arp commented on the upcoming homecoming schedule and fall testing.
