Here’s a heads up to motorists that use Highway 44. There will be delays today due to a minor construction project.

Through the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT), staff from the De Soto maintenance garage will be replacing a culvert under Willow Avenue, just east of Panora on the north side of the highway. Workers will be at the project site from around 7:30am-3:30pm. No official detour will be in place during the closure, though DOT officials remind motorists to drive with caution and obey posted speed limits and other signs.

The project will be completed pending weather, though no make-up date is scheduled at this time if the project is delayed. Contact the DOT with any questions.
