panoraThe Panora City Council met in regular session Monday.

A representative from Marsy’s Law for Iowa made a presentation. The organization advocates amending state constitutions that don’t offer protections to crime victims, as well as the U.S. Constitution, to give equal rights to victims of crimes to those who are convicted. According to the organization, Iowa is one of 15 states that are not in alignment with their mission. No formal action was taken on the presentation.

Then they discussed a City burning policy. City Electrician Doug Long discussed installing a fan at the facility to cut down on the smoke production. They also discussed facility access to the general public and regulations. No formal action was taken on either discussion.
