The Greene County High School Spring sports schedule for today is light with just one event. The Rams host West Central Valley in boys’ soccer in Grand Junction today. The match was originally scheduled for last Tuesday, but a conflict for WCV prompted officials to move the action to today. Varsity teams play at 5:30 p.m. Greene County is 5-0 on the season and ranked number 9 in Class 1A by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.

Coach Heath Telleen’s boys’ golf team played 18 holes at the Perry Invitational on Saturday under tremendous weather conditions. The Rams were sixth among seven teams with 425 strokes. Norwalk won the event with 320, followed by ADM 348, Gilbert 350, Woodward-Granger 411, Carlisle 413, the Rams, and Perry 532.

Leading the Rams was junior Jadon Block with 41-40=81. That tied for the fifth best score among 40 golfers. Other scores counting in the Greene County total were 107 from senior Jacob Rohner, 116 by junior Sawyer Schiltz, and 121, shot by both freshman Caden Telleen and senior Cody Gilbertson.
