A Fort Dodge man faces felony charges for burglary following an alleged incident that occurred this past weekend in Jefferson.
According to the Jefferson Police Department, an officer responded to a vehicle burglary call from the Greene County Medical Center at 3am on June 8th. The report shows that a suspect punched out a passenger side window in the medical center parking lot. The officer reviewed the facility’s video surveillance and saw the suspect remove a purse, as well as items from another vehicle that was unsecured.
Captain Heath Enns tells Raccoon Valley Radio the officer took the photo of the suspect to the surveillance staff of Wild Rose Casino. The officer asked if the suspect had been a patron there the night of the burglary and a male matching the description was found. Enns notes that the police department has used this resource in previous cases with their investigations.
Arrest warrants have been issued for 29-year-old Logan Eric Warland of Fort Dodge. He is charged with three Class D Felonies for second degree criminal mischief and two counts of second or subsequent offense for third degree burglary of a motor vehicle, and two simple misdemeanors for fifth degree theft.
Enns says once Warland is apprehended, he will be booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
