The adoptive grandmother of 16-year-old Sabrina Ray of Perry is looking at even more time in prison, as she will plead guilty to a charge of escape from custody.

According to court documents, 65-year-old Carla Bousman will enter a guilty plea in Polk County Court. On May 2nd she managed to leave the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women in Mitchellville, and was apprehended a half-mile east of the facility and returned to prison. She was charged with a class D felony for escape from custody, and could face up to five additional years in prison. Bousman is in the second year of a 20-year sentence after being found guilty of seven counts related to Sabrina Ray’s death on May 12, 2017.
