A Jefferson teen was recently sentenced to prison following two incidents in Greene County.

According to court documents, 19-year-old Rodney Halterman pled guilty to a Class B Felony for distribution of a controlled substance to a person under 18 and a lesser charge of a serious misdemeanor for fourth degree theft. Halterman was sentenced to one year in the Greene County Jail on the misdemeanor charge and was placed on three years of probation for the felony charge. The sentences are to run concurrently with the five year prison sentences for two convictions in Story County.

The Greene County charges stem from two separate incidents. The felony charge was from an August 22, 2018 incident where Halterman sold marijuana to a 17-year-old girl. The misdemeanor was from an August 24, 2018 incident where Halterman stole City of Jefferson street signs.

Halterman was also ordered to pay over $500 in fines and surcharges.
