The ADM cross country teams competed in their district race yesterday in Atlantic and they had a successful day as Nate Mueller is returning to state after a first place finish and the girls team qualified after finishing 3rd in the team standings.

The number one ranked runner in the state Mueller showed his dominance on Thursday with a great time of 15 minutes and 57 seconds, which was 45 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. In a season full of great performances, this was one of his finest to date, and it came at a great time as he booked his trip to Fort Dodge. The men’s team finished 5th with a team score of 120 points in the race. Junior Nathan Royer finished 25th.

The Girls team had big performances from their top runners as they finished 3rd with a team score of 98. Freshmen Geneva Timmerman had another great race as she finished 5th with a time of 19 minutes and 52 seconds, one of just five runners to break the 20 minute threshold. Junior Hannah Welch finished 15th in the event, freshmen Callie Moyer 20th, in 28th place was Sophia Chesney, and rounding up the scoring in 33rd place was junior Astraea Munyan.

In a wild season that has seen many rain cancellations and reschedules, ADM conquered the conditions on Thursday to move on to the state race in Fort Dodge on Saturday November 2nd. The girls race is scheduled for noon and Mueller will be competing in the boys race shortly after the completion of the girls race at 12:30.
