The Panorama football team put their season on the line Friday night in Dike.

The Panthers made the trip to face the 2018 state runner-ups in Dike-New Hartford. The night did not get off to a great start for Panorama. The Wolverines drove down the field and scored on the opening drive of the game. Panorama’s first drive stalled, but their defense was able to come up with a huge stop and forced Dike-New Hartford to punt. Panorama then answered back driving down the field with a 40-yard pitch and catch from Dominic Walker to Michael Allen. Luke South was able to finish the drive with a one-yard rush to tie the game at seven. A fumble deep in their own territory put the Panther defense in a tough situation, but the Panthers were able to come up with a huge fourth-down stop to keep the score even heading into the halftime break.

Panorama received the ball to start the second half and marched right down the field. With just two minutes taken off the clock, Walker found Drew Taylor on a 22-yard touchdown pass to take their first lead of the game. The Panther defense was in prime position to take that lead into the final quarter, until Dike-New Hartford quarterback Drew Sonnenburg connected with Parker Kiewiet on a 60-yard touchdown pass on 3rd and 20. The strike gave the Wolverines their first lead of the second half. Both teams had drives fizzle in the fourth quarter until Panorama found themselves in do-or-die territory with the ball on their own 20-yard line with under three minutes to go. Overcoming two fourth and long situations the Panthers found themselves at the Dike-New Hartford 12-yard line on the final snap of the game. Unfortunately for Panorama, they could not find the endzone and their upset bid fell just short.

Panorama will finish their season 8-2.
