Greene County High School senior Julia Saul achieved one of her athletic goals on Saturday at the Marshalltown YMCA when she swam for the first time in the Iowa Girls State Swimming Championships. Saul swims for Boone under an athletic sharing agreement and she qualified as part of the 400 freestyle relay. Boone finished in 28th place in that event among 32 teams in the field after qualifying with the 30th fastest time.

Before the State Meet, Saul told Raccoon Valley Radio she was very excited to have the opportunity to swim at State. The goal she and her relay teammates set was to improve their time and to place higher than they entered State, which they did.
