The Adel City Council convened twice Tuesday evening, first for a joint session with the Planning and Zoning Commission, and second for a regular session.

The joint meeting was held in the Adel Public Library, and the only item on the agenda was the presentation of the “Envision Adel 2040” comprehensive plan draft from Confluence. The regular meeting began with the annual update from the Greater Dallas County Development Alliance, followed by a proclamation for November 10th as the American Legion Auxiliary Centennial Day. Also in open forum, a representative from Black Hills Information Security invited the Council and staff to a penetration testing conference at the Adel Library on November 20th. In new business, the Council gave their approval of resolutions appointing UMB Bank as the paying agent, note registrar, and transfer agent, and authorizing the issuance of $4.135 million in general obligation refunding capital loan notes as part of the bond refunding process approved at a previous meeting.

Next, they approved the annual urban renewal report, as well as resolutions to authorize an interfund loan to the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) fund and approving the TIF indebtedness certification. The Council then approved a pay estimate and final acceptance for the City Hall window replacement project, and the same for the water utility improvements on Bryan and Rapids streets. The meeting concluded with a closed session for the annual job performance review of City Administrator Anthony Brown.
