The Jefferson Police Department recently received a grant for equipment upgrades.

The Alliant Energy Foundation gave a $1,500 grant to the local police department for an emergency lighting upgrade on one of their patrol vehicles. Department officials say the new lighting will not only help keep officers safe when they are responding to an emergency situation, but it will also keep the general public safe as well.
