Starting tomorrow and running until summer, the Perry Parks and Recreation Department is once again offering weekly Fellowship Meals at the McCreary Community Building.

After taking a holiday break, the meals will again be available for $5 each Wednesday at noon, for those aged 55 and older. Assistant Parks and Rec Director Becky Halling says it’s nice to have a concrete plan for the Fellowship Meals, and she offers her thanks to Perry Lutheran Homes for making that possible. “We are very lucky and very thankful to be partnering with the Lutheran Home. They provide us their cook, Rhonda, and she is nothing but wonderful and fantastic. So again, that’s every Wednesday during the school year.”

Halling adds, they’re excited to bring back the monthly programs offered prior to the meals. “The first Wednesday of every month there is going to be a program at 11:15, and that could be anyone from speaking about upcoming events, there’s people playing music, or talking about programs. It’s a good time. It’s something that everybody should come and experience.”

Tomorrow’s guest will be Perry Parks and Rec Director John Anderson, who will speak about upcoming improvements to the rec center. Reservations are recommended for the Fellowship Meals, and can be made by calling the McCreary Center at 515-465-5621.
