The Greene County high school basketball seasons are winding down. North Polk (Alleman) visits the middle school gym in Jefferson tonight to face the Rams in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference action. This is the final girl/boy doubleheader this season and for the Greene County girls, tonight’s game against the Class 3A eighth ranked Comets, is their last of the regular season. The Rams play in Gowrie at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15 vs. Southeast Valley in the first round of Class 3A Regional basketball.

Tonight also marks the final varsity girls’ game in the middle school gymnasium. The Rams will call the new school on the northwest side of town home starting with the 2020-21 school year. After tonight, the Greene County boys will host Saydel (Des Moines) in the last varsity basketball game for the Rams in what has been their home court for nearly 67 years.

Tonight’s games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at six o’clock and the boys to follow.
