With confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Dallas County, medical officials at Dallas County Hospital and Family Medicine Clinics are continually monitoring the spread of the pandemic closely.
Hospital Administrators emphasize that they’re working with state and local departments, with the safety of County residents as their highest priority. They advise people who have mild symptoms of novel coronavirus 2019 to self-monitor their symptoms at home and follow necessary precautions. An individual should seek medical attention if symptoms are worsening, and they’re advised to call the hospital before coming in. While monitoring at home, DCH recommends you stay in isolation until you’ve had no fever for 72 hours without medication, other symptoms have improved, and at least seven days have passed since the symptoms first appeared.
Hospital staff also recommends people continue to practice social distancing, and conduct careful hygienic practices such as frequently washing your hands, avoid touching your face, and cover your coughs and sneezes. For general questions about COVID-19 and to report mild symptoms, call the toll free Department of Health hotline, 2-1-1.
