Dallas County Conservation reminds the public that while much of what they have to offer is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they still offer several outdoor venues for people to enjoy while maintaining social distancing.

Each of their conservation and natural area properties around the County are still welcoming guests, including: Sportsman Park near Dawson; the Kuehn Conservation Area near Earlham; the Voas Nature Area near Minburn; Hanging Rock Park near Redfield; and Trindle Park near Van Meter. All public restrooms are closed at each park, and there should be no gatherings of more than 10 people at any spot. Additionally, the Raccoon River Valley Trail and High Trestle Trail will remain open for day use at this time.

Closures of Conservation facilities include: the Dayton Stagecoach Inn near Bouton; the Glissman Lodge near Adel, though the outdoor area around it remains open; Forest Park Museum in Perry; Voas Rock and Mineral Museum near Minburn; and the Grand Army of the Republic Museum near Redfield. Camping is also now prohibited at Sportsman and Kuehn. The closures will remain in effect until July 1st, or until further notice. Anyone with questions can call Forest Park at 515-465-3577.
