Motorists in Guthrie County should be mindful of some halts in traffic on Wagon Road or County Road P28 this week.

Cedar Falls Construction Company is patching portions of the road that stretches from Stuart to Panora, and while the road is not closed, County Engineer Josh Sebern says in different areas traffic is limited to one lane. Sebern mentions how often the County addresses this road, “We typically do that stretch, it seems like we’re having to address it every two to three years. We’re seeing a lot of breaks on there, not exactly what we’re wanting to see, so we’re trying to stay on top of the patching before we lose too much ground.”

The contractor’s bid of $126,000 came under Sebern’s estimate of $134,000, though the project is being administered by the Iowa Department of Transportation as it is being paid for by Farm-to-Market funds. The patching is expected to be completed by the end of this week.
