Had COVID-19 not disrupted the event, the annual Dallas County Fair would have ran this week. However, there will still be activity at the fairgrounds in Adel over the coming days with the first ever 4H/FFA Expo.
The affair is not open to the public, but throughout the week local 4-H and FFA youth will present livestock and static projects from this past year. The event is being presented through the partnership of the Dallas County Fair Association, local FFA chapters, and Dallas County ISU Extension and Outreach. The festivities will run through Sunday, July 12th, with Saturday the 11th earmarked for Clover Kids Day. Additionally, the annual Sponsorship Dinner will be offered through a to-go service on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., with all proceeds funding future fair programs and entertainment.
Raccoon Valley Radio will also be on hand at the fairgrounds this week for the Expo, as we will broadcast live from the Big Red Radio and provide daily updates on the winners of the various shows. The official Dallas County Fair will return from July 7-11, 2021. For more information on the Expo, including how to donate to the 4H and FFA students or reserve a sponsorship meal, email the Fair Association at dallascountyfairgrounds@gmail.com, or call their office at 515-993-3728.
