Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is hosting an 11-county virtual coffee tomorrow.
ISU Field Agronomist Mike Witt and Farm Management Specialist Tim Christensen will be leading the discussion for the Virtual Farmers Coffee. Topics that will be presented include agronomic impacts of the derecho and drought conditions in west central Iowa, crop insurance, grain quality and storage issues, and harvest safety and farm stress resources. Greene and Guthrie counties are included in the 11-county virtual discussion, but Witt says anyone can join as he explains the logistics behind this first-ever type of event.
“Our main goal with this Virtual Farmers Coffee is interaction between the audience and us as speakers. And what it is, is you can either join from home via free registration or you can pre-register at your county (Extension) office (and you can) come in and sit down. But it gives farmers and anyone in the community the option to do whichever is most comfortable to them. It’s free in both situations.”
Along with Greene and Guthrie counties, the other counties include Calhoun, Crawford, Sac, Harrison, Ida, Monona, Audubon, Carroll and Shelby. The meeting will be from 9-10:30am tomorrow. Call your respective Extension office or click the link below to register and participate in the virtual meeting.
