The Perry Bluejays will travel to Madrid next Friday night for  a non-district football clash with the Tigers.  Perry was originally scheduled to play Des Moines Hoover but the metro public school hasn’t been able to play a game since week one due to 100% online learning.  The schedule change means Perry will have only two home games this year.

“Yeah, we hated giving up a gate but Madrid has senior night and there was just too many little details to work out so we agreed to play at their place,” added Activities Director Scott Pierce.  “It worked out really well for us because I want our guys to experience a full season and it’s less than 25 miles away.  They have a great tradition of football at Madrid.”
