
Thursday, December 24th
1:45am: Officers assisted the Jefferson Fire Department with a structure fire at 409 North Maple Street. The fire was contained to an area of the garage near a wood burning stove.
3:45am: An officer assisted a motorist who had run out of fuel in the 200 Block of Gallop Road.
5:45am: An officer assisted a female who had fallen and was not injured in the 700 Block of South Elm Street.
11:30am: Jim North requested a Welfare Check on a dog in the 300 Block of North Chestnut Street. The officer checked on the animal and found it to be inside the residence.
11:30am: A advised of the Theft of his propane tank for his grill in the 300 Block of North Locust Street. He did not wish to file a formal complaint.
4:25pm: Adam Choruzek reported an Erratic Driver on 220th Street, heading west towards Jefferson. The officers did not locate the reported vehicle.
5:21pm: An officer assisted a motorist with vehicle trouble at 106 West Washington Street. The officer drove the subject home after the vehicle would not start.
9:48pm: Brittany Olson reported the Theft of an Incense Burner form 307 West Lincoln Way Street and provided the officer with a suspect. A short time later, she called the officer back and advised she had located the item and did not need further assistance.
Friday, December 25th
11:22am: A caller advised of an Open Door on a vacant residence in the 300 Block of South Pinet Street. The officer secured the door.
12:55pm: An officer investigated a Vehicle Collision at the intersection of Monroe and West Streets. A 2005 Chevrolet Impala, owned by Krystal Dzuris of Jefferson and being operated by Markus Rosenow of Bagley, failed to yield at the intersection as he travelled south on West South Street. Rosenow collided with an eastbound 2003 Chevrolet K1500, owned and operated by Carter Semke of Des Moines. Both vehicles had a reported $3000.00 in damages. Rosenow was cited for, “Fail to Yield to Vehicle on Right. Semke was cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”
9:17pm: Nellie Petterson requested officers at 107 North Olive Street. The officers arrived and found the issue to be Civil between her and her children.
10:34pm: An officer assisted a motorist with a flat tire at 777 Wild Rose Lane. A local business was contacted to come and change the tire.
Saturday, December 26th
2:56pm: An officer assisted a deputy on a Traffic Stop on 220th Street, west of Kirkwood.
6:08pm: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 1700 Block of North Elm Street.
6:22pm: David Carbon reported vehicles driving erratically around the square. The officers located the vehicles, who were honking as they drove around the square in honor of a friend’s birthday.
7:17pm: An officer assisted the jailer with a belligerent inmate in the jail.
8:38pm: Carolyn Berry reported a neighbor’s dog barking in the 400 Block of East Madison Street. The officer located the animal and spoke to the owner, who advised he would fix the issue.
10:43pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and 220th Street resulted in Jasmine Teed of Adel being cited for. “Excessive Speed.”
11:35pm: Several callers advised of hearing a loud explosion in the south part of town. Officers did not locate anything that may have caused the calls.
Sunday, December 27th
5:53am: A subject located three wrapped gifts in the street on West Lincoln Way Street. The officer opened the gifts to determine a possible owner and found they contained old shoes, or were empty. He disposed of the items.
1:53pm: Officers responded to a Burglary Alarm at 903 West South Street. The met the owner of the residence there, who advised it was accidental and no assistance was needed.
2:24pm: Shannon Otterson requested an officer at 806 West Washington Street to remove her adult son from the residence. The officer arrived and learned the son does not reside there. He was given a ride to another residence in town for the evening.
******** An officer has requested Arrest Warrants after completing a Burglary Investigation that began on 12/07/2020, at 301 ½ East Lincoln Way Street. The officer made the requests for Jonathan Phillip Michael Kennedy, 33 of Fort Dodge and Matthew James Spaulding, 29 of Ogden for, “Burglary 2nd Degree – C Felony.”
******** An officer has requested an Arrest Warrant for Laura Anne Friedel, 40 of Lohrville. The warrant is for, “Violation of a Protective Order.” The charge stems from a Traffic Stop on 12/19/2020, in which the protected party and Fridel were both in the vehicle.
Note: All charges are merely an accusation. All defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
