The West Central Valley School District will continue with spectator restrictions despite the governor’s most recent proclamation changes.

Activities Director David Doely says that home wrestling meets at the middle and high school levels will allow two spectators per participant. Home basketball games will allow the full household for each participant. Only home cheerleaders will be present. Participants include all players, coaches and game personnel.

Doely says he understands the frustration for spectators, but student safety is the most important reason.

“I know people aren’t going to be happy with that, but we want to make sure our kids stay in school. If we can help with any outbreak or anything like that with COVID, we just want to do what we can.”

Spectators must socially distance by household and masks are required. Home events are available on the West Central Valley Wildcats YouTube channel, and you can click here to view livestream options for other conference schools.
