While the weather right now is cold and snowy, the later part of 2021 brings with it the Dallas County Fair and preliminary planning is taking place. 

While 2020 brought a socially distanced and altered Dallas County Fair, this year Dallas County ISU Extension Regional Director Ann Torbert says planning is going on as it normally would during a non-COVID year. 

“We are being highly encouraged to proceed as normal. I think what we’ve learned from last year is we can pivot if we need to. So right now at this point we are planning to go forward with our usual fair process.”

Torbert notes planning right now looks like it normally would but if things are to change before it starts in July, changes can be made. 

“As we get closer to the actual date if we need to implement more social distancing guidelines we absolutely will do that.”

The dates for the Dallas County Fair this year are July 7-11.
