Greene County ISU Extension has several reminders for 4-H’ers to be aware of.

Animal project meetings are starting to take place prior to this year’s Greene County Fair. The first dog project meeting will take place Monday from 6-7pm at the Extension office in Jefferson. This will be an informational meeting and so no dogs will be needed. Rabbit and poultry will begin with the poultry pullorum testing and rabbit tattooing on May 1st.

4-H’ers who have animals in the food chain must complete the required Youth for Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) online training by May 15th to be eligible for the county fair. Finally, sheep and goat weigh-ins are May 1st. Call 515-386-2138 or stop by the Extension office for more information or questions.
