The Iowa Corn Promotion Board has announced the Future of Agriculture Scholarship award recipients and a Guthrie County student was among them.

Rylee Sloss of Guthrie Center was announced as one of the recipients. The committee evaluated applicants based on their essays, applications, reference letters, current grades and activities. Also, recipients had to be an Iowa Corn Growers Association member or be a dependent of a member.

The 18 student recipients each received a $1,000 scholarship and had to be enrolled at an accredited 2-year or 4-year junior college, college or university or graduate school in a program of study that will equip them to contribute to Iowa’s agriculture industry.

The recipients will be recognized at the Grassroots Summit in August.
