ADM boys basketball has made an announcement on a new basketball coach, as they have tabbed Waukee assistant coach Trevor Mickelson the new coach to help lead them into the future.

According to a press release through ADM, Michelson has been a lead assistant for the Waukee Warriors since the 2012 season and served as the offensive coordinator as well for the program. Offenses under Michelson’s leadership have ranked in the top 5 of class 4A in field goal percentage in 6 of the last 7 years along with top 5 in assists 5 of the last 7 years.

He graduated from Iowa State in 2009 before earning his Masters of Arts in Teaching from Drake University in 2012.

Mickelson was apart of the 2020-21 Waukee Warriors team that was a state champion at the class 4A level.

Mickelson is replacing coach Aaron Mager, who coached the Tigers for 16 seasons and was able to bring some great success to the program.

Mickelson will be taking over for an ADM team that finished 10-13 in the 2020-21 season, one that had eleven seniors on the roster. The Tigers are projected to be returning two starters along with key role players as well.
