A Boone woman faces several charges following a weekend high speed chase in Jefferson.

According to the Jefferson Police Department, officers responded to an incident at 4:48pm from Wild Rose Casino and Resort. When officers arrived on scene, an Iowa State Patrol Trooper was attempting to stop a vehicle in the Wild Rose parking lot, who the driver was refusing to stop. The suspect’s vehicle struck another parked vehicle in the parking lot before exiting as law enforcement was in pursuit.

The suspect’s vehicle headed north on Highway 4 as speeds reached 70 miles-per-hour. The chase ended on the highway near 160th Street, when a trooper made contact with the suspect’s truck, as the vehicle went into a ditch. Authorities arrested 28-year-old Brittany Hansen of Boone. She was charged with misdemeanors for eluding, first offense for an OWI, along with several traffic infractions, including reckless driving, excessive speed, interference with official acts, driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway, failure to provide proof of financial liability and failure to wear safety belts.

Hansen was booked and released under her own recognizance from the Greene County Jail. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the chase. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
