For those wanting to participate in a local cardboard boat regatta, the time to register is running out. 

The Cardboard Boat Regatta will be taking place at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Adel Aquatic Center. The program is free and open to all ages. Teams will compete in groups of two and you must be at least seven-years-old to participate without a parent. 

Some of the rules for boat construction include, boats must only be made out of corrugated cardboard, tape may only be used to hold pieces together, and paint and decorations may not act as reinforcements for the boat.
