As the weekend approaches, there will be more activities at the Adair County Fair.

 Friday at the fair is Senior Day so anyone 60 and older will get into the fair for $5.  The jam packed morning starts with the horse show at 8 a.m. and the sheep show will follow at 9 a.m. The meat goat show is at 11:30 and the dog agility show to finish up the morning

At noon the Pride of Iowa contest will take place as a cooking contest where kids have to prepare everything in front of judges, which must include an ingredient from Iowa in their recipe.  

The afternoon will feature the bucket bottle calf show and Discover the Fair scavenger hunt will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 10p.m. Additionally, there will be a mechanical bull and the main event will be the demolition derby at 8 p.m. in the grandstand. Tickets to get into the fair for ages 13 and up are ten dollars and for ages 12 and younger is five dollars. Also people can purchase advance admission for $40 for 5 tickets. All admission tickets will cover the grandstand events for that day. As a reminder, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will continue to broadcast live each day of the fair through Sunday.
