Dallas Center – Grimes is on the hunt for a win to begin the 2021 football season, as they will open up against North Polk tonight on the road.
For DCG, the big things that will be looking to do tonight is get out to a quick start, make big plays on both sides of the football, and win the battle of the trenches against quality competition. DCG went 6-1 last year falling in the second round of the playoffs, North Polk went 1-7 losing in the first round, but are expected to be improved this year.
The Mustangs will be returning multiple starters on both sides of the ball again but will be looking to play each player one way, which should help keep the team fresh not just tonight but later into the season as well. The Mustangs have been able to record a winning record every year outside of one since 2013, and are hoping to continue the tradition with this year’s team.
DCG will be hoping for a big playoff push this year, especially with 21 seniors on the roster that way.
The kickoff tonight will be at 7:30, as DCG will be looking to start the season in the win column.
