The Panorama Panthers Volleyball Team was looking to continue their good start to the season but came up short in three sets against the Earlham Cardinals Thursday night.

The Panthers were looking to continue their strong start to the season after beating the Interstate 35 Roadrunners in all three sets earlier this week  but came up short to a Cardinals team that picked up its second win of the young season Thursday . The Panthers lost all three sets by scores of 22-25, 12-25 and 18-25.

Head Volleyball Coach Joanne Sandage says the girls played hard but struggled with serve receiving and terminating the ball which the team will look to work on ahead of their match against the Ogden Bulldogs next week.

While the outcome of the match wasn’t another point in the win column Sandage says the girls hustled and made plays with effort. Sandage says the team wants to win and will use games like this to work on improvements and not make the same mistakes but force their opponents into mistakes instead.

The Panthers have fallen to 1-1 on the season and will look to regroup before their next match against the 1-0 Ogden Bulldogs next week at 6:30 p.m. August 31st in Ogden.
