As Homecoming Week continues for the Perry Community School District, the homecoming king and queen were crowned Wednesday night.

With volunteer day kicking off Wednesday of homecoming for Perry the night was capped off with the crowning of the homecoming king and queen. For the king royalty Perry student Manny Soto was crowned as the homecoming king. Soto explains how it felt to be crowned king.

“I had no idea, I was just pretty happy to be on court.”

Then for the queen crowning the homecoming court decided on Perry student Nubia Torres as their 2021 homecoming queen. Torres explains how it felt to be crowned the queen for Perry in 2021.

“It feels great. I’m shocked. I don’t have any words to say I kind of didn’t realize that it was on my head until a few seconds later and the I was like oh wow this is actually happening.”

While the homecoming coronation is officially wrapped up with both the king and the queen selected for this year there is still more fun to be had this week with special dress up days, game day, the football game Friday against the visiting Clarke Indians and the homecoming dance following the football game in the high school commons.
