While the Panorama Panthers football team finished the season with an overall record of 1-7 one of their players produced big yards on the ground multiple times during the season.
The Panorama Panthers went through the season looking to find production from spots that were vacant after the class of 2021 graduated and found some success throughout the season in different areas, including from the running back position.
For the Panthers sophomore running back Ryan Cogil finished the season averaging 5.6 yards per carry with four touchdowns, one of the being a long of 70 yards which led Class 1A District 7 football for the longest on the season.
While Cogil performed well he also had two games this season where he rushed for more than 200 yards. The first game was against the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks where he had 20 carries for 203 yards and two touchdowns which helped lead the Panthers to a 26-21 victory over the Tigerhawks.
Cogil would go on to rush for more than 200 yards again against the Interstate 35 Roadrunners where he had 33 carries for 245 yards and touchdowns while also adding two receptions for eight yards and a touchdown through the air in a 26-20 loss against the Roadrunners.
By the end of the season Cogil led the Panthers in rushing with 96 carries for 542 yards and four touchdowns while also being versatile and producing six receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown. The Panthers will look to bring Cogil back next year for his junior season as an important part of the offense.
