The Stuart Police Department, Iowa State Patrol and the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office were on scene Thursday to conduct a search warrant around 4pm on the 400 block of Northeast 3rd Street in Stuart. The warrant was for the arrest of the suspect who was wanted on assault charges. After authorities cleared the home, a stand-off ensued with the suspect that allegedly had a knife. According to the authorities there was no danger to the public at any time as they cleared the area. The incident remains under investigation.
