For one past Perry Bluejays football player this year will mark their induction into the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s (IHSAA) Football Hall of Fame. 

The 2021 class for the football hall of fame will include Terry Lambert who was a multi-sport athlete for the Bluejays and also with the University of Dubuque. Lambert played both running back and defensive back for the Bluejays.

As a sophomore in 1980, Lambert led Perry to a perfect regular season and it’s only playoff qualification in the first 30 years of the IHSAA’s postseason system. In his senior year, Lambert rushed for 436 yards in one game, which was good for second-most in state history at that time. 

The IHSAA will induct the 2020 and 2021 football hall of fame inductees during the two 2021 football championship games on Friday, November 19th at the UNI-Dome at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
