Bitterly cold temperatures are continuing across much of Iowa, including the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for Greene County through noon today and will be under another wind chill advisory from 6pm tonight through noon tomorrow. Wind chills are as low as 25 degrees below zero this morning with wind gusts as high as 50 miles per hour. Tomorrow, the wind chills could be as low as 30 degrees below zero. The National Weather Service says frostbite could happen to exposed skin within ten minutes of being outside.

Dallas and Guthrie counties are currently under a wind advisory until noon today. Winds could gust as high as 45 miles per hour, which could cause power outages, falling tree limbs and other debris to blow around. The National Weather Service has also issued a wind chill advisory for Dallas and Guthrie counties starting midnight tonight through noon tomorrow, where wind chills could be as low as 25 degrees below zero.
