A Scranton man was recently sentenced for assault.

According to court documents, 53-year-old Randall Venteicher pled guilty to a lesser charge of a serious misdemeanor for assault causing bodily injury. He was sentenced to 180 days in the Greene County Jail, which was to run consecutively with a probation revocation from a March 2021 conviction of an unrelated domestic abuse incident where he was serving two years of probation and now will serve two years in prison.

The serious misdemeanor conviction for assault causing bodily injury stemmed from May 4, 2021. A Greene County Deputy responded to a domestic abuse call in the 100 block of 190th Street. The deputy eventually found Venteicher on top of the victim in a nearby barn where the victim had injuries consistent with abuse.

As part of the plea agreement, the no contact order with the victim has been removed and Venteicher was originally charged with a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for domestic abuse assault.
