Greene County ISU Extension has several online only courses coming up.

A free six week series called Stay Independent: A Health Aging Series has two new sessions coming up. The first session is “Cooking for One or Two” on February 15th at 6:30pm or February 16th at 10am. Greene County Extension Director Lori Mannel talks about this important topic for older adults.

“We know that our grocery bills are ever increasing and we want to make sure that we manage our grocery bills effectively. Maybe we overcook or we think we’re going to use them as leftovers and we don’t, and we get sick of them by the time before they expire.”

The next session is “Feast on Fruits and Vegetables,” which will be at 6:30pm on February 22nd or 10am on February 23rd. Both sessions are free.

A childcare continuing education course will be held on February 22nd from 6:30-8:30pm called “I Only Want a Peanut Butter Sandwich” and the eating habitats of younger kids. Cost for the training is $5.

The final online only course is “Your Money, Your Goals,” which will go over how to be financially empowered and the choices you make now that can impact your future. The class will be held on February 23rd from 9:30-11:30am and 1-3pm. Cost to attend is $35. Contact the Greene County Extension office at 515-386-2138 or stop by to sign up.
