Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers girls track and field competed for the first time this year on Monday in Cedar Falls, as they took on a lot of different schools and athletes in the Dickinson Relays. It was overall a very nice day for the Tigers, as they were able to put up some strong numbers across the board.

The Tigers were able to get a monster day of senior Olivia Tollari, as she was able to finish first in the long jump with a mark of 18-00, which was able to tie a school record in the event. Makayla Crannell was able to get a 3rd place finish in the event with a jump of 17-02, a wonderful result.

In the 1500 run, junior Geneva Timmerman was able to grab a 4th place with a time of 4 minutes and 51 seconds. Senior Kirsten Kilker was able to grab a 4th place finish with a mark of 37.08.75.

The 4×200 team was able to put up a tremendous time to start the year with a mark of 1 minute and 47 seconds. The members of the team were Makayla Crannell, Jada Grove, Hallie Henfling, and Olivia Tollari. The 4×800 team was able to put up a 19th place finish during their run, a good result that ended with a time of 11 minutes and 4 seconds.

In the girls 60 meter sprint, freshmen Jada Grove was able to finish 4th with a time of 7.97 seconds. Henfling was able to finish 10th with a mark of 8.09 seconds.

It will now be the boys turn today, as they will be looking to put together a strong showing in their first meet of the year in Cedar Falls, as they will be looking for quality performances. That event is scheduled to begin at 2 pm.
