The Perry School Board approved a girls wrestling program at their regular meeting this past Monday.
The Board approved the girls wrestling program that will begin with the 2022-2023 school year and the Board also approved the girls wrestling coach position that will also begin with the 2022-2023 school year.
The Board also approved the 2022-23 insurance plans and rates through the Iowa Schools Employee Benefits Association which has the health insurance at a 9.95-percent increase, Delta Dental which has a 3.75-percent increase, Unum’s Life Insurance and Avesis eye care.
Also, the Board approved a time and date of 6 p.m. April 11th for the proposed 2022-23 budget, approved a budget guarantee resolution, revisions of board policies, graduation pay at a double amount and a 2022 growing season bid from No Lawn Left Behind.
The Board then approved a Perry Middle School Music Department trip to Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 13th, University of Northern Iowa cooperative agreement for student teachers and accepted the fiscal year 2021 preliminary audit report.
Additionally, the Board approved the 2022-23 AEA Cooperative purchasing agreement, a student computer purchase for laptops, computer bags and Chrome management license not to exceed $150,000 and an agreement for special education services between the Perry Community School District and Metro West Learning Center LLC.
Finally, the Board approved a teacher/paraeducator recruitment grant, a staff retention payment in the amount of $1,000 for all active continuing contracted staff not covered under the State of Iowa Teacher Retention Payment and updating a job description changing Technology Assistant to Assistant Technology Manager/PowerSchool Data Manager.
