The Panorama Panthers girls track and field team headed to Earlham Tuesday to take part in an early bird meet which saw them come away with good results.

In the first of two track meets this week to mark the start of the track and field season the Panthers headed to Earlham for an early bird meet that featured many schools. The meet was a non-scoring meet but it was a chance for athletes to get their first taste of action this season.

For the Panthers girls Jaidyn Sellers once again showcased her speed in the 100 meter dash as she took first place with a time of 12.71 and Sellers was a State Champion last year in the 100 meter dash. Maddy Lutz-Richey also ran a 15.15 in the 100 meter dash as well. Sellers also earned a second place finish in the high jump at 4′ 10″ Sellers and Payton Beckman also placed well in the 400 meter dash as well.

There were plenty of other good performances included Zoey Hambleton running a 18.90 in the 100 meter hurdles and McKenna Burns coming in 21.26. Also, the Panorama girlsperformed well in other events throughout the meet.

The next meet for the Panthers will be Thursday when they take part in another early bird meet beginning at 4:30 p.m. March 31st at Ogden High School which will be a scored meet. The Panthers girls track and field team will be looking to get out and perform well in the various events throughout the season in hopes of making it back to the postseason.
