ACGC softball fell in the first round of the postseason to Panorama by a score of 11-9 and Head Coach Eric Van Meter spoke about the season.

Head Coach Van Meter says the season did not get off to great start but he felt like the girls improved throughout the season.

“I’ve been around these girls for a long time. The sophomore girls. I’ve coached them since fourth and fifth grade. So I guess I hope I know the buttons to push to get them going. And this year it was hard. I don’t know what game it was probably eight games in. We completely changed our infield and tonight we I think we only had two starting spots that were the same as when the season started. So we made a big switch mid-season and the girls just settled in a little bit more. I don’t I don’t know what the difference was. They just started playing for each other. I don’t know what the magic day was or why it happened.”

The ACGC softball program has a young program right now with only one graduating senior and two juniors so the majority of the team will be back next year. Van Meter hopes every player does something to improve in the offseason.
