
Dallas Center – Grimes 2021-22 athletic season has officially come to a close, and for the Mustang athletic program, they were able to put up some tremendous results that resulted in four team state championships on the year.
The boys cross country team was able to record their third consecutive state championship, winning in the 3A field in Fort Dodge. Aidan Ramsey was able to lead the charge for that program, capturing the individual state championship. The girls team was also able to grab a second place team performance in a strong season.
The boys basketball team was able to capture their first state championship in program history, defeating Carroll, Winterest, and Central DeWitt on the way to a thrilling title in 3A.
Boys track and field were able to show a strong team the entire season, with that season being put into the record books as they were able to record the 3A team state championship.
Girls soccer was able to put together a tremendous season as they were the lone team in the entire state that was able to go undefeated, getting revenge over Cedar Rapids – Xavier in the championship game to win in the 2A field.
Softball was able to get a state runner up appearance last week, as DCG was well represented by a lot of programs in the athletic year.
They will be hoping to duplicate success this upcoming year, with many teams expected to be very good once again.
