With the previews continuing to roll in for the upcoming Panorama Panthers football season, week seven will feature another Guthrie County showdown as the AC/GC Chargers will be headed to Panora this year.
Last season when the Panthers took on the Chargers in Guthrie Center the Chargers were able to improve their unbeaten record at the time as they emerged victorious over the Panthers by a final score of 70-0 but the Panthers still lead the all-time record at 9-1 as last season was the first time the Chargers were able to beat the Panthers.
For the Panthers last year Cayden VanMeer led the way for passing with 7/18 and 78 yards while Austin Block led in rushing with 22 yards on eight carries. Klayton Bremer had 60 yards on three receptions and also led on defense with five tackles.
For the Chargers the tandem of Charlie Crawford, Gavin Cornelison and Cayden Jensen rushed for more than 250 yards combined and eight touchdowns on the ground while Jensen also returned an interception for a touchdown and returned a kickoff for a touchdown as well. This group will not be available for the Chargers this season as they have since graduated.
The Panthers will be looking to improve their all-time record over the Chargers to 10-1 when the Chargers travel to Panora on October 7th beginning at 7 p.m. as District 7 football will be continuing late into the season.
