After a few years hiatus, the Friends of the Jefferson Library have brought back its Friend of the Year award.
Prior to the pandemic, the Friends of the Jefferson Library have honored an individual or individuals who have shown their support to the library. There were five recipients for this year’s award that went to local media for their broadcasts and news reports promoting the library. The honorees included Coltrane Carlson with Raccoon Valley Radio, Andrew McGinn, formerly of The Jefferson Bee and Herald, LuAnn Waldo of The Scranton Journal, Jefferson Bee and Herald Editor Brandon Hurley and Victoria Riley of Greene County News Online.
Each individual was given a certificate, a gift from Fudge’s Flowers and Gifts, along with a book that was purchased in their honor by the Friends, which was then added to the library’s collection.
