A registration deadline for a major fundraiser that supports one of the bigger employers in Greene County is fast approaching.

Tickets for the 6th Annual BOOST Bash for the Bringing Optimism and Opportunities to Students and Teachers (BOOST) organization that financially supports the teachers and staff of the Greene County School District can now be purchased. BOOST Board member Matt Wetrich says in their first five years they have raised over $300,000 that has gone to a variety of different projects, trips, equipment needs to enhance the overall educational experiences for students.

“Literally every single student in the school district has been impacted by these projects, it’s every age. The requests that are starting to come in now that we’ve built up this reputation, we’re getting teachers to start dreaming bigger, which is the fun of it.”

Wetrich describes other ways the BOOST provides positive communication to the Greene County staff.

“We also, just before Valentine’s Day, sent little ‘love letters’ if you will to every staff member got a card, with a note about how much they’re appreciated and cared about, as well as $25 of Chamber Bucks. So this is the kind of stuff we do throughout the year, little tokens of appreciation.”

The BOOST Bash is scheduled for April 1st at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson. Doors open at 5:30pm, followed by dinner at 6:30 and the live auction begins with a pie auction at 7pm. Tickets are $30 per person or $240 for a table of eight and the deadline to purchase tickets is March 22nd. Click the link below to purchase tickets.
