The Chargers played host last night to the Interstate 35 Roadrunners in varsity doubleheader action. Both teams faced a tough opponent, with the softball team falling in the first game 0-5, and then 0-11 in the second. The baseball team also had a rough time of it, but was able to stay close in the first few innings of the first game, before the Roadrunners turned on the gas and opened the gap, and the Chargers fell 3-13.

In the second game, both teams went scoreless in the first, then I-35 was able to get some good hits and ball placement to advance runners and grab 7 runs. That lead proved to be insurmountable, as the Chargers found good ball placement only a few times and were able to score a handful of runs, finishing the game 4-12. Head coach Taylor Morris said that it seemed in the last few games there was always one inning where the team allowed the opponent to score big, but otherwise played a very close game, and that they are doing better and working on playing that close game for every inning.
